This FREE workshop is designed to cover the basics of keeping a Visual Journal. It is broken down into two short sessions. Through video presentations, photographs and printable workshop handouts, I will show you a variety of books and journals that I have worked from, simple materials you can use and a sample of completed journal pages.
This will serve as a diving board so you can jump right in. After this tutorial you will be ready to start experimenting on your own, participate in upcoming journal prompts and sign up for future workshops which will focus on more in-depth techniques and themes.
Cost: FREE!
This is an open ended course. You may begin at anytime and work at your own pace.

So what is a Visual Journal anyway?
For me a Visual Journal is much like any other journal or diary. It is a place where you work out and document your thoughts and ideas. The difference is you get to play with art materials. Color, line, movement, shape, images, and text combine in a unique form of creative self discovery.
Why teach online?
I have enjoyed my experiences with keeping a Visual Journal so much that I want to share the process with you. I have taught Visual Journals for the past 6 years. The “Write It Down” program is the first online workshop I created.
